The Huntress 03:30
I don’t lead no sedentary lifestyle And I haven’t for quite some time ‘Cause I saw this thing comin’ like a cat through the wild And I put my bowie knife to the grind Been sharpening survival skills Know how to live, know how to kill I work my body, keep it fit I’m careful what I put in it Sure I’ve succumbed a night or two To homegrown smoke or homemade brew Won’t let it get the best of me No, I like my mind and senses keen I don’t lead no sedentary lifestyle And I haven’t for quite some time ‘Cause I saw this thing comin’ like a cat through the wild And I put my bowie knife to the grind The warning signs were clear to me It really was quite plain to see The Earth was done, fed up with us We far outlived our usefulness So farewell to the unprepared Unfortunates who poorly faired No matter if you’re meek or mean All bets are off, the slate’s wiped clean And had anyone believed me asked me what to do They just might still be here too I’d say get outta the city find a place that you Can wait out the worst of what this world will do You’re better off alone you can’t trust no one When people get close it’s always best to run If you travel in packs all it takes is one Who’s greedy weak or careless then you all are done And wouldn’t it be nice If I could heed my own advice but I don’t need no solitary lifestyle Been solo for far too long I can see myself dyin’ all alone in the wild Guess I’d rather be missed when I’m gone I’m sick of my own company Want someone else to talk to me I long to see a human face See what’s become of my own race Without laws or legislature There’s only desperate human nature So goodbye safety hello danger Hello last surviving strangers I don’t need no solitary lifestyle Been solo for far too long I could use a friend with whom to brave the wilds Share a meal and maybe join in a song

I heard your voice ring out Though this abandoned place I knew you were the one for me Before I saw your face I wanna be your woman Maybe you can be mine I’d like to say I’ll love you Until the end of time but The clocks and calendars were lost There’s no one counting now But you can count on me On that you have my vow I’ll grow and gather what we need You can hunt and protect Might take forever to rebuild But I like a good project I wanna be your woman Maybe you can be mine I’d like to say I’ll love you Until the end of time but The clocks and calendars were lost There’s no one counting now But you can count on me On that you have my vow Our instruments would not have joined Without this cataclysm But now that you have my support Take the lead and I’ll take rhythm

I sing my songs and bide my time Making up some stupid rhymes And next time you are drunk on wine I’ll toss you in the salty brine We roll on the waves and you take what you see You and your crew of cutthroats and thieves You shouldn’t have taken my lover and me ‘Cause soon you’ll be dead, and we will be free I sing my songs and bide my time Watching as you chew a lime I hope you choke upon the rind And speechless, die a helpless mime We roll on the waves and you take what you see You and your crew of cutthroats and thieves You shouldn’t have taken my lover and me ‘Cause soon you’ll be dead, and we will be free I sing my songs and bide my time Plot your just, deserved demise As clouds descend, I know it’s time To make you pay for all your crimes In this black, torrential squall Your drunken men won’t hear your call I seize a spar and take a stance You draw your blade, so starts our dance We roll on the waves and you take what you see You and your crew of cutthroats and thieves You shouldn’t have taken my lover and me ‘Cause soon you’ll be dead, and we will be free We roll on the waves and you take what you see You and your crew of cutthroats and thieves You shouldn’t have taken my lover and me... ‘Cause now you reside in the depths of the sea

My baby and me we were lost at sea We were pulled apart by the tug of the tide Well it broke my heart and I nearly died Didn’t know what to do Without you Washed up on a foreign shore Just another piece of the flotsam Rooted through the wreckage for you Never been so scared and lonesome A knife and pan and pot, The Captain’s pipe and flint Some rope, and a barrel of rum Even found my old ukulele, but I’d give it all up to have you beside me, Hun My baby and me we were lost at sea We were pulled apart by the tug of the tide Well it broke my heart and I nearly died Didn’t know what to do Without you Waited my whole life for a love like ours And when I found you you were snatched away I’m afraid to wander too far If you’re still adrift you just might wash up in this bay I do my best to distract myself And keep the fire burning day and night I pray you’ll see the curls of purple smoke Or catch the flicker of the firelight My baby and me we were lost at sea We were pulled apart by the tug of the tide Well it broke my heart and I nearly died Didn’t know what to do Without you

Waiting for me ‘neath a splintered tree You succumb to the warmth of my hand I will carefully mend until once again you Can favor the air over land

Dark haired girls with big brown eyes Can’t help but make me think of my dear sister How I miss her I close my eyes and see your smile My memories are carefully filed You were mine, I’m ever yours No matter if we’re never more Dark haired girls with big brown eyes Can’t help but make me think of my dear sister How I miss her Everything we ever love We one day lose, and there’s the rub Nothing on this Earth will last It all fades to the distant past Fresh beginnings never cease And help to keep my heart at ease I see a hint of your old smile In the face of some new child Dark haired girls with big brown eyes Can’t help but make me think of my dear sister How I miss her

The Gardener 03:14
Well I’m no stranger to the way that a hydrangea grows And I love the foxglove, the daisy, and the rose Astromaria, and marigold, and goldenseal Valerian, and lavender, and other herbs that heal Arugula, asparagus, artichokes, heirloom tomatoes And tubers are a favorite, carrots, turnips, beets, potatoes My thumbs have always been a lovely shade of chartreuse And I’ve never had a hobby have quite so much use As gardening So stop your worrying ‘Cause I’ve been gathering And I’ve been carrying A few of every seed To grow the things we need Plants of every creed From vine to tree and even weed We’ve got to make things better ‘cause they never have been worse So we’ll plant ourselves a garden even if it’s small at first With care and cultivation and time and sun and rain One day we’ll have an orchard and golden fields of grain So let’s work the earth before us, stick our fingers in the ground I’ll teach you how to garden as we make a joyous sound ‘Cause my thumbs have always been a lovely shade of chartreuse And I’ve never had a talent have quite so much use As gardening So stop your worrying ‘Cause I’ve been gathering And I’ve been carrying A few of every seed To grow the things we need Plants of every creed From vine to tree and even weed Seeds, beans, and peas in pods and sheaths Lift the soil with my hands and lay them underneath Tubers, and corms, and bulbs, and rhizomes I plant them in the earth where I make my home Seed becomes sprout becomes bud becomes bloom They reach for the sun and sleep under the moon Plants to eat, plants to smoke, plants to simply admire They grow day by day getting higher and higher We will bask in the glory of our flower garden And cast off whatever fears we ever had of starving We will dance through the harvest of what we have grown Our voices will rise as we reap what we’ve sown We will save all the seeds of our every crop And carry them on so the growth never stops My thumbs have always been a glorious golden green Now the garden is grown you can see what I mean

What use is a quarter Now the world’s devoid of borders And currency is currently replaced by trade and barter What use is a What use is a quarter In this start from scratch world order Where currency is currently replaced by trade and barter What use is a What use is a quarter If you’re not some nostalgic hoarder 'Cause currency is currently replaced by trade and barter What use is a Back in the day, you’d spend a quarter Washing laundry or on pinball Back in the day, you’d spend a quarter On a jukebox or a phone call Back in the day, you’d spend a quarter At the grocery or the strip mall On a peep show or a gum ball What use is a quarter Now the world’s devoid of borders And currency is currently replaced by trade and barter What use is a What use is a quarter The coin’s become a martyr Farewell to the face of our once founding father What use is a What use is a quarter Now the world’s devoid of borders And currency is currently replaced by trade and barter What use is a
